IL TEAM RENZI CORSE PORTA A CASA IL SUO PRIMO PODIO DA MONDIALE

Obbiettivo raggiunto in questo secondo round della FIM WorldSSP sul tracciato TT di Assen. La squadra di Stefano Renzi è riuscita a portare a casa i primi punti per il campionato e la sua prima vittoria nella Challenge, risultato che fa ben sperare per i prossimi round.

Nella giornata di ieri, Simone Corsi era sceso in pista per Gara 1 sotto ad una pioggia insistente, portando a casa un buon 14esimo piazzamento e dimostrando di aver trovato il giusto feeling con il bagnato.

Oggi alle 15:15 è scattata Gara 2 e, grazie ad un meteo decisamente instabile, è stata ricca di colpi di scena.
Simone, che scattava dalla 23esima posizione in griglia, ha deciso di schierarsi con gomma d’asciutto, ma durante il Warm-up lap ha ricominciato a piovigginare.
Si spengono i semafori e parte la gara. Con uno scatto veloce il pilota romano recupera alcune posizioni, dopo poco però la pioggia si fa sempre più fitta e costringe la squadra al cambio gomme. Questa scelta, ad alcuni giri dal via, si è rivelata molto strategica ed ha permesso a Simone di dimostrare l’ottimo feeling riscontrato nei giorni precedenti. Giro dopo giro, il pilota #40 ha recuperato posizioni, arrivando a concludere la gara con la vittoria del Challenge e regalando così il primo podio al Team Renzi Corse.

Gli ottimi risultati ottenuti in questo round su “l’università delle due ruote” dimostra la crescita del team, che tornerà in pista per il prossimo round il 14 – 16 Giugno a Misano.

“Il weekend è stato un po’ particolare per via del tempo. Oggi mi sarei aspettato una gara asciutta, ma così non è stato! Nel giro di warm-up aveva già incominciato a piovere ed avevo anche pensato di rientrare subito per mettere le Rain. Alla fine, mi sono schierato come tutti gli altri. Forse se avessi ascoltato il mio istinto, il risultato sarebbe stato ancora meglio oggi! Sono comunque molto contento per il risultato e per aver regalato il podio alla mia squadra! TEAM RENZI CORSE CELEBRATES ITS FIRST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PODIUM


Mission accomplished during this second FIM WorldSSP round at the TT Circuit Assen. Stefano Renzi’s team was able to score its first championship points and its first win in the Challenge, a result that bodes well for the coming rounds.

Simone Corsi completed yesterday’s Race 1 in steady rain, scoring a solid fourteenth-place finish and proving to have found the right feeling in the wet.

Race 2 got underway today at 15:15, with the unstable weather ensuring it was an action-packed one.
Twenty-third on the grid, Simone decided to go with slick tyres but it began to drizzle already during the warm-up lap. The lights went out and the race began. The Italian immediately made up a few positions, but the rain soon intensified and forced the team to make a tyre change. This decision, taken just a few laps in, proved strategic and allowed Simone to demonstrate the good feeling he’s had over the weekend. Lap by lap, #40 gained ground, ultimately scoring victory in the Challenge and securing Team Renzi Corse its first podium.

The strong results scored at the “University of Two Wheels” demonstrate the team’s growth, as it turns its attention to the next round, set to play out on 14-16 June at the Misano World Circuit.

“The weather made for a strange weekend. I expected a dry race today but that’s not how it went! It already started to rain during the warm-up lap and I considered pitting immediately to switch over to rain tyres, but in the end I lined up to start alongside everyone else. If I’d gone with my instincts, today’s result would have been even better. I’m pleased anyway, both for the result and the fact I’ve given my team a podium.
