INIZIO POSITIVO AD ASSEN PER IL TEAM RENZI CORSE

Nelle prove libere del venerdì mattina, caratterizzate da una pioggia insistente, Simone Corsi è riuscito ad effettuare solamente 7 giri durante il turno di free practice. Il primo approccio per il pilota romano e la sua Ducati V2 2024 con il bagnato si è concluso con un crono di 1’56”376.

Nella Superpole, la squadra di Stefano Renzi era pronta per una qualifica d’asciutto, improvvisamente, però, appena terminato di montare le gomme slick, ha ricominciato a piovere. Montate le “Rain” Simone è riuscito ad abbassare di molto il suo crono prendendo, giro dopo giro, sempre più confidenza e siglando un buon 01’50”710.

In Gara 1, Simone, che scattava dalla 23esima casella della griglia, con uno scatto veloce è riuscito subito a recuperare numerose posizioni arrivando fino alla settima posizione. Nonostante la scelta delle “Rain” fosse azzeccata, soprattutto per i settori 3 e 4, a metà gara la pista ha cominciato ad asciugarsi e il pilota #40 ha cominciato a perdere terreno, concludendo la manche in 14esima posizione.
Grande prestazione, comunque, del Team Renzi Corse che porta a casa così i suoi primi punti nel campionato mondiale.

“Finalmente sono arrivati i primi punti! È stato un terno al lotto scegliere le giuste gomme, metà griglia era con le rain e l’altra metà con le slick. Noi abbiamo scelto le rain e siamo partiti subito forte!! Purtroppo poi, a metà gara, la pista ha cominciato ad asciugarsi e abbiamo perso un po’ di posizioni! A POSITIVE START FOR TEAM RENZI CORSE AT ASSEN

During Friday morning’s practice, characterised by persistent rain, Simone Corsi was able to complete just seven laps. This initial experience in the wet saw the Italian rider close with a time of 1’56”376 aboard his 2024 Ducati V2.

In Superpole, Stefano Renzi’s team was ready for a dry session, but the rain made a sudden reappearance no sooner had they put in slick tyres. Switching to rains, Simone was able to significantly lower his time, building confidence lap by lap and setting a good 1’50”710.

In Race 1, Simone made a strong start from twenty-third on the grid and was quickly able to make up an impressive number of positions to reach seventh. Although opting for rain tyres was the right call, particularly through sectors three and four, the track began to dry out during the second half of the race and the #40 rider started to lose ground, crossing the line in eventual fourteenth position.
All in all, a very positive performance for Team Renzi Corse, which scores its first world championship points.

Team Renzi Corse will return to the track tomorrow for warm-up at 09:40 and Race 2 at 15:15.

“We have points on the board at last! Choosing the right tyres was like playing the lottery, half the grid went with rains and the other half chose slicks. We opted for rain tyres and made a really strong start. But from mid-race on, the track began to dry, and we slipped back as a result. But I’m pleased anyway, and we’ll work hard to do more tomorrow.”
