IL TEAM RENZI CORSE CONCLUDE IL SUO PRIMO WEEKEND DA MONDIALE

Primo weekend nel mondiale Supersport giunto al termine per il Team Renzi Corse nel circuito di Montmelò. Per la squadra di Stefano Renzi questo è stato sicuramente un race weekend molto emozionante e determinante per capire il percorso di crescita da affrontare per arrivare a combattere con i protagonisti della FIM WorldSSP:

Dopo Gara 1 di sabato, che si è conclusa con una 20esima posizione per Simone Corsi, l’obbiettivo del team era quello di sfruttare il warm-up di questa mattina per provare alcune modifiche per concludere al meglio questa tappa di Barcellona. I piani sono stati un po’ cambiati in quanto è stata dichiarata wet-practice.

Gara 2 piena di colpi di scena, invece. Simone, con una bella partenza, ha da subito recuperato ben cinque posizioni e, con ritmo costante, stava continuando ad avvicinarsi al gruppetto davanti a lui. Al sesto giro, però, la manche è stata interrotta da una red flag che ha fatto rientrare tutti i piloti al box.
Il team ed il pilota romani, costretti ad una ripartenza di una gara di sei giri, devono rifare tutto! Grazie ad un’altra partenza veloce e ad alcuni sorpassi mozzafiato, Simone è riuscito a concludere gara 2 con una buona 19esima posizione.
Nonostante l’obbiettivo punti non sia arrivato, la squadra di Stefano Renzi torna comunque soddisfatta e fiduciosa in vista del prossimo round ad Assen il 19 – 21 Aprile.

“Weekend difficile! Mi aspettavo un inizio stagione diverso e di poter lottare fin da subito per la zona punti. Oggi, con la ripartenza, eravamo ad un soffio da raggiungere questo obbiettivo, ma non sono riuscito a mantenere la posizione. Dobbiamo sicuramente lavorare e spero di trovare il giusto feeling per Assen! Un grazie a chi ci supporta. Ci vediamo in pista!”

TEAM RENZI CORSE CONCLUDES ITS FIRST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND

Team Renzi Corse has completed its very first Supersport World Championship weekend, at the Montmeló circuit in Spain. For Stefano Renzi’s team this has been a very emotional weekend that has served to pave the way in terms of understanding what needs to be done in order to battle up front in the FIM WorldSSP.

After Saturday’s Race 1, in which Simone Corsi scored a twentieth-place finish, the team’s goal was to exploit this morning’s warmup and try to make a few changes so as to round out this Barcelona weekend in the best possible way. The plans changed a little however after the session was declared a wet practice.

Race 2 turned out to be a real thriller. Having made a good start, Simone quickly made up five positions. His strong pace meant that he was continuing to close in on the group ahead, but on lap six the race was interrupted with a red flag, which meant riders were forced to return to the pits.
The Italian team and rider found themselves having to start over, lining up for the restarted race, which consisted of just six laps. Thanks to another fast start and some incredible overtakes, Simone was able to close race 2 with a solid nineteenth-place finish.
Despite not reaching the points zone, Stefano Renzi’s team is nevertheless pleased and confident ahead of the next Assen round, which will take place on 19 – 21 April.
