PRIMA GARA DEL MONDIALE ARCHIVIATA PER IL TEAM RENZI CORSE

Archiviata la prima gara nel mondiale per il Team Renzi Corse, che sta percorrendo kilometri importanti, sul tracciato spagnolo di Montmeló, per il suo percorso di crescita all’interno della FIM WorldSSP.

Ieri Simone Corsi, nella Superpole, era riuscito ad ottenere un crono di 1’46”290, che lo aveva posizionato alla 24esima casella della griglia di partenza. Questa mattina, con pista asciutta, il pilota romano è riuscito a girare con ritmo costante anche nel warm-up e ha sfruttato questi dieci minuti di turno per provare qualche modifica tecnica in vista della gara pomeridiana.

Gara 1 dunque in rimonta per Simone che, nonostante una partenza veloce, si è ritrovato nel mezzo del traffico di metà classifica. Il pilota delle Fiamme Oro ha dato tutto se stesso ed è riuscito a battagliare, con il secondo gruppetto di testa, per rientrare nella top 15.
Una prima manche sicuramente complicata, conclusa con la 20esima posizione, dove l’obbiettivo punti non è stato centrato, ma sono stati raccolti dati importanti per cercare di migliorare già dalla giornata di domani.
La squadra di Stefano Renzi si può comunque ritenere soddisfatta alla sua primissima comparsa nel mondiale delle derivate di serie 600.

Il Team Renzi Corse sarà impegnato nella giornata di domani con il warm-up alle 09:40 ed alle 15:15 con Gara 2 che sarà visibile, in diretta, sul canale 205 di Sky.

“Prima gara della stagione andata! Partivamo indietro, ma ho subito recuperato qualche posizione allo start. Purtroppo, non riesco a trovare il giusto feeling per essere un po’ più veloce. Dobbiamo assolutamente migliorare, stiamo già lavorando per trovare il giusto setting per domani.”

TEAM RENZI CORSE COMPLETES ITS FIRST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

Team Renzi Corse has completed its very first Supersport World Championship race, clocking up the miles at the Spanish track of Montmeló as it takes on the FIM WorldSSP.

In yesterday’s only free practice and subsequent Superpole phase, Simone Corsi was able to set a best time of 1’46”290, which saw him qualify twenty-fourth for today’s race. This morning, on a dry track, the Italian was able to lap consistently again during warm-up, using the brief ten-minute session to make a few technical modifications ahead of the afternoon’s race.

Simone found himself playing catch up in the race, caught up in traffic mid-field despite having made a very strong start. The Fiamme Oro rider gave it his all and was able to battle his immediate rivals in the chasing group and get back inside the top fifteen. A complicated first race ultimately brought a twentieth-place finish, but although the team was unable to reach the points zone, it was able to collate a great deal of data, which will be important in preparation for tomorrow’s race, despite the less than favourable grid position.
Stefano Renzi’s team can nevertheless be satisfied with its very first appearance on the world championship stage.

Team Renzi Corse will be back on track tomorrow for warm-up at 09:40 local time, followed by race 2 at 15:15. The race will be broadcast live on Italian SKY channel 205.

“The first race of the season is in the bag. We started further back, but I immediately made up a few positions at the start. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet found the kind of feeling that would allow me to be a bit faster. We definitely need to improve and are working to find the right setting for tomorrow.”
